The Valkyrie Full-Course Relay spans nearly 100 miles of Durango's spectacular city and naturescapes. The event features teams of specialized competitors exchanging between trail running, mountain biking, stand-up paddle boarding, open water swimming, road cycling, canoe/kayak paddling, and road running. Ultra athletes can compete as single "Ultra Heptathletes" or as Ultra Duos and Trios.

The Valkyrie Sprint Relay offers competition in all seven sports and runs concurrently with the Full-Course version. Spanning 69 miles, the shorter distances make the race more accessible to recreational, youth and family teams. Experience the same excitement and epic racecourse as the Full course counterparts. Ultra athletes can compete as single "Ultra Heptathletes" or as Ultra Duos.

VALKYRIE RELAY - DURANGO SPORT LEGS (FULL COURSE RELAY DESCRIBED):

TRAIL RUN (TRL) - 9.1 mi at Horse Gulch

MOUNTAIN BIKE (MTB) - 17.1 mi at Horse Gulch

STANDUP PADDLE BOARD (SUP) - 3.1 mi at Lake Nighthorse

OPEN WATER SWIM (SWM) - 1.2 mi at Lake Nighthorse

ROAD CYCLE (RCY) - 46.2 mi throughout the Animas River Valley

CANOE/KAYAK PADDLE (PAD) - 5.1 mi down the Animas River

ROAD RUN (RDR) - 16.6 mi on the Animas River Trail
